Seafreight Import Controller

Key Account Import Controller (Unilever SA)
Coordinate the shipment of goods via ocean freight from origin to destination, ensuring effective logistics management.
Ensure timely pick-up and delivery of shipments to maintain operational efficiency.
Review and validate import documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, commercial documents, and import permits, ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
Oversee and assist with file registration, process cargo dues, and provide instructions to the shipping line and transport providers.
Monitor vessel arrival dates and ensure prompt clearance processes are completed.
Update the shipment schedule with new shipments and estimated vessel arrival dates, communicating any potential delays to clients multiple times a week.
Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure a clear flow of information regarding shipment details.
Submit necessary release documents to the shipping line promptly to prevent demurrage or detention charges.
Coordinate with transporters regarding the collection and delivery of containers from the port to the client’s agreed destination.
Request and confirm receipt of all relevant invoices from various service providers prior to issuing client invoices.
Generate invoices for clients, ensuring all applicable charges are accurately applied.
Address and dispute any invoices that are not applicable with the respective service providers.
Ensure that a Goods Received Note is included with invoices as per client requirements.
Verify that all charges have been invoiced and the file is prepared for closure.
Implement quality control measures to uphold high standards of service delivery.

Shipping Controller

Request shipping documentation from suppliers in a timely manner.
Receive, confirm, and systematically track original shipping documentation.
Approve and securely file all shipping documentation in accordance with company policies.
Forward all relevant documentation to the clearing team timeously to ensure ample time for clearance.
Capture and allocate shipments utilizing Monday.com for efficient tracking.
Assign Veterinary Import Permits to relevant shipments as necessary.
Monitor the expiration of Veterinary Import Permits and submit applications for Dispensation Letters when required.
Oversee the tracking of shipments across the entire process to ensure timely delivery.
Record and process claims against suppliers diligently and accurately.
Ensure claim amounts are accurate and a timeline of events are drawn up to evaluate parties liability.
Prepare releases to the coldstore for delivery to the customer
Save the customs and vet releases to the drive.
Update Monday.com with all tasks completed for the relevant shipment.
Capture and archive Goods Received Notes from cold storage facilities for quality assurance.
